Tim Piazza's BzzMatters

Online marketing and social media perspectives

About Me

timheadshot_facerightSocial media started for me in 1982 with my first 300 baud modem, but really kicked in during the late 1980′s when I became a Sysop on GEnie. I’ve been continuously engaged since then, both professionally and personally. Being plugged-in has always been my advantage and a personal joy. I have friends around the world whom I met first online and now visit when I travel.

Twenty five years later, social media has become mainstream. It’s no longer referred to as being “online”. The language has changed and the technology has advanced remarkably, but it’s still people connecting to each other in ways that diminish our differences and strengthen our shared values.

This blog is a journal where I share my observations on the changing social media landscape. I will talk about the things that interest me. I won’t be talking about our clients, but I do hope to talk to prospective clients, as I believe that if someone likes the way I think, they’ll probably like the way I work.

What you will not see is a regurgitation of whatever the topic du jour happens to be. If I do happen to write about something that’s hot, I will strive to add something new to the conversation. I don’t like to argue, though I do appreciate constructive criticism. I aspire to enlighten and be enlightened.

Much of what I learned in the ancient (in computer years) past remains important today. The technology has changed dramatically but people are still essentially the same. I’ll direct most of my conversation to brand managers and business owners, because these are the people I serve in business, but occasionally I will just talk about things that I think are interesting. Regardless of your role, I hope to pique your interest and share a conversation.

If you have a comment, criticism or concern, please share it with me. I’m readily available through this website. Please do not hesitate to get in touch!

Thank you for your interest,

Tim
